A HIGH school teacher is raising money for an orphanage.
Lauren Davey, a teacher at St Christopher’s High School, Accrington, is raising money for the Shining Faces Orphanage in India.
The school has supported the charity for more than 20 years.
A fundraising evening takes place on Saturday at the Hare and Hounds pub in Harle Syke, Burnley, with food and entertainment on offer.
Miss Davey said: “I have been overwhelmed by the support of local businesses in organising this local charity event.
“Firstly the Hare and Hounds in Briercliffe are providing the room, supper for all attending, plus a raffle prize of carvery for two absolutely free of charge.
“Local DJ ‘Bobby B’ has also offered his services free of charge. I am very grateful.”
Tickets cost £5 and there will be a disco, raffle, games and supper.
