THE head chef of the restaurant at one of Burnley’s most popular leisure resorts has been appointed to the board of its parent company.
Spencer Burge, who manages the kitchen at Bertram’s Restaurant, at The Woodland Spa, has joined the board of Crow Wood Leisure as catering director.
Crow Wood’s managing director, Andy Brown, said he made the decision after Mr Burge led ‘a highly-successful opening year’ for the Royle Road eaterie.
Mr Burge said: “I’m delighted to be joining the board of Crow Wood Leisure as catering director. The success of Bertram’s Restaurant and The Woodland Spa compliments the health club, equestrian centre and Soccer Burnley. It means we have an outstanding array of facilities that is unrivalled in the North of England.”
Mr Brown said: “Bertram’s has become a place to be seen, where people enjoy fantastic imaginative dishes in luxurious contemporary surroundings and a great atmosphere.
“We were keen to use Spencer’s talent and imagination across the whole business, so we’re delighted to announce that he’ll be joining the board.”
