ALMOST £12,000 has been raised by the Mayor of Clitheroe’s Community Hub over the last nine months.
The hub, which closed on Friday, was set up by Coun Kevin Horkin to raise money for the Mayor’s Community Fund, which is being donated to community groups later this month.
The £11,936 raised from the shop is part of the £28,507 total that the mayor has raised for the fund over his mayoral year, which is due to end in May.
Coun Horkin said: “I’m proud of what the shop has achieved over the year and the mayoress has done a spectacular job at running it alongside other volunteers.
“I think it has been a great community hub and I hope that future mayors carry on this idea in their own way.”
