I'm suffering from shock that this made it on the news; or should I be used to the BN's tawdry reporting? Reaching out far into the barrel to even make barrel scraping quite interesting.

You can only get shock from blood and/or plasma loss.

No surprise - the drivers regularly jump the red lights at the War memorial at Bromley Cross without a care in the world for anyone else. Mind you it's not unique there though as it appears to be a local pastime in Bolton.

Maybe the council should sponsor a red light jumping Olympics - Bolton would win it without breaking stride.

The accident wasn't at the lights, it was further down from the lights on Darwen Road.

Bring back the run in off Blackburn Road onto Darwen Road, My friends and I would take that corner at 70 and we never hit anything at Smith Lane or anywhere else...mainly because we were not there long enough...

Bromley Cross clogged with useless drivers going nowhere...shame as it was a nice place to live before it was over developed and filled with the resident thugs

The term Shock is correct as it covers a wide spectrum, but saying 'A state of shock' would have been better.

Well I hope those involved are all feeling better, and it was worth including this (non) story in the BN, if only for all the comments that made me smile.

I'd agree with other posters that the standard of driving has decreased markedly in the last few years. Too many drivers seem to take a red light as advisory rather than a legal requirement to comply. I was hit and injured by a driver years ago, going at about 60 in a 30 zone who didn't see the red light because he said he was colour blind! Funny now but.......
