A FUNDRAISING night in memory of Darwen nursery nurse Sarah Glover raised £3,300 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Miss Glover, 36, of Blackburn Road, died from cervical cancer in February at East Lancashire Hospice.
Close friend Michelle Clarke, 34, one of a group of fundraising friends dubbed ‘Sarah’s Angel’s’ organised the event at AFC Darwen earlier this month.
The night included live music, a DJ set, raffle and auction which alone made more than £900, boosted by the donation of a signed Blackburn Rovers shirt.
Michelle said: “The event was a massive success and I’d like to thank everyone who came along to be part of it and making it so special.
“I would also like to give a special mention to all businesses in the Darwen area who where more than happy to donate prizes for the raffle and auction.
“It was a privilege to have a friend like Sarah and it seems only right to support a charity that was very close to Sarah’s heart and the hearts of her family and friends.”
