SHOPPERS at a Pendle supermarket can recycle their old Christmas cards and help raise money for charity.
Morrisons in Nelson has recycling bins in store for people to dispose of the old cards.
There will also be another bin for shoppers to place unwanted carrier bags.
This year it is estimated one billion Christmas cards could end up in landfill sites in the UK. For every card recycled through the supermarket a donation will be made to the Salvation Army.
Paul Eckersley, general store manager said: "We are delighted to offer our customers these recycling services.
"They are both quick and easy to use, and help both the environment and the Salvation Army."
Bins are placed near the check-outs and the stores' entrances.
