TEENAGERS have only a little time left to apply to take part in a police reality experience.

The deadline for applications Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale's Volunteer Police Cadets is on January 31.

The 28 people chosen will be able to help examine crime scenes, see court cases and take part in an activity weekend.

The course lasts 38 weeks, and all those who complete it will receive a certificate and recognise-d qualification.

Volunteer Cadet Co-ordinator PC Chris Collett said: "Once again, we've had a great deal of interest in the Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme but we're still keen to hear from more applicants.

"The programme offers young people a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the Police Service, to take part in a range of exciting activities and perhaps more importantly, to gain new skills, make new friends and have fun."

Applicants have to fill out a form and take part in a half-day assessment to test their team-building and problem-solving skills.
