EAST Lancashire's own "Queen of Puddings" is to kick-off a series of business lectures.

Helen Colley, founder and managing director of Farmhouse Fare, Clitheroe, will appear at the 2007 Business Partnership lecture series, to be opened at the Ramada Hotel, Blackrod, on Thursday, February 8.

Mrs Colley founded Farmhouse Fare from her family farm 20 years ago and has since developed the firm into an award-winning supplier to supermarkets including Asda and Booths.

Tricia Calway, of the Business Partnership, said: "Having Helen as the first speaker in the 2007 lecture series takes the event off to a fantastic start.

"Not only is she one of the most well-respected leaders in the catering business but she has also emerged as one of the country's leading entrepreneurs. Her story takes us from the kitchen in her parents' farmhouse to a fully-fledged business worth an astonishing £10million!

"The journey of Farmhouse Fare is definitely going to be one worth listening to and I am confident that the advice that Helen will give will be invaluable."
