CHILDREN love creating and they love chocolate — and we have combined the two for a fantastic competition.

The Bolton News is once again running its Design an Egg competition, which is open to children and schools across the borough - and the winner will be decided by you, our readers.

Sponsored by Bolton Council, there are two age groups — four to seven, and eight to 11 — and the winners in each category will have their designs made into Easter eggs by chocolatier Slattery’s, of Whitefield.

They will also win fantastic prizes, kindly donated by sponsors.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is draw your design on the template on this page, fill in the coupon underneath and send it to: Design an Egg Competition, The Bolton News, The Wellsprings, Civic Centre, Bolton, BL1 1AR.

The closing date for entries is Friday, April 4.

Our judges will select the designs, which will feature in a special supplement on April 16. Readers will then have the chance to vote for their favourites by phone and text.

The winners will be those who receive the most votes.

You can download a template of the egg to complete your fantastic design here: DesignAnEggEntryForm.pdf.

Usual Newsquest rules apply to the competition.
