Police investigating the unexplained death of a 83-year-old woman at Ainsworth Nursing Home say they are not treating it as suspicious.
Officers were called to the care home in Knowsley Road on February 24, following the death of Mary Anne McAdam.
She was said to be suffering from a number of medical conditions, but a post mortem examination carried out the following day was inconclusive.
A police spokesman said: “A post mortem was unable to ascertain an exact cause of death and further tests will be carried out.
"However the woman was elderly and suffering from a number of ongoing and complex medical conditions.
“An investigation to determine how the woman died is continuing.”
