Firefighters were called to Royal Bank of Scotland, Market Street, Chorley, after a cooker caught fire yesterday, (Tuesday).

The blaze was out when firefighters arrived shortly after 11.10am, a spokesman said, but they cleared a basement kitchen of smoke using ventilation units.

The kitchen suffered moderate smoke damage.
