A MINI relay is to be held in Rawtenstall Town Square in the run-up to the Relay For Life Rossendale.

Organisers are encouraging teams and cancer survivors to get involved with taking part and volunteering at the event on Saturday, March 15.

Barry Hyde, chairman of Rossendale Tourism and Heritage Group, said: “Relay For Life is an inspirational community event which celebrates the lives of people touched by cancer.

“Although Relay For Life Rossendale has now been running for seven years, it is still not established in the community as much as it deserves to be.

“Because it is a team event, people have the misconception that it is closed to the public. It is far from it.

“It happens at Marl Pits, Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall in June, and raises funds for Cancer Research UK.”

If you would like to help with the organisation of the event, enter a team, or attend as a cancer survivor, email event chairman Jacqui Kemp on jacquirossndale@talktalk.net.
