A WOMAN who dropped a cigarette end out of her car window faces a £170 bill.

Rebecca Barlow, 25, of Railway Street, Chorley was spotted dropping the butt by council officers who were in a clearly marked council vehicle on Portland Street car park, magistrates were told.

They waited to see if she picked it up, but she failed to do so and she was then issued with a fixed penalty notice which she did not pay despite two reminders being sent.

Ms Barlow, who was found guilty in her absence by the magistrates after she failed to turn up to court, was fined £75 and ordered to pay £75 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
