AN ELDERLY woman had her handbag snatched by a man as she walked near her home in Burnley.

The incident happened around 7pm on February 21 when the 72-year-old victim was walking down Barry Street. As she stopped to look in her bag, a man came up behind her, pushed her against the wall and grabbed her bag before running off in the direction of Alder Street. The attacker was described as a white, in his late 20s, 5ft 5ins, slim and wearing a light grey hooded top.
