They can only give you the information they have. Would you rather the BN made something up?

There isn't any more information because it's not really a story - certainly doesn't appear to be a crime as the police aren't even hunting anyone in connection.
Basically a bloke was found at home after somehow injuring himself and has been sent to hospital - doesn't this kind of stuff happen many times every day without being picked up by the papers?

I'm sorry just a bloke2000 but this is a story to me as I know this lad and I've known him 18 Yrs. He's a great friend, colleague and he's a great dad. I've tried all day to find out if he's OK. I'm still trying now. If these things happen everyday and it is just an accident then why is the house taped off with police tape and why have they taken the pic off now? That makes me more worried because its the unknown. I hope and pray he's OK. And I hope the people who think this is not news or just another story take a min to remember that this is someones son, someones brother, someones dad and a well respected friend

No, Claude, it's LIFE to you, if you're directly involved with the person, not a 'story'! It's still not necessarily news, though - police tape will be there as a precaution until they're happy. It's something they do. You could've gone down to the hospital once you found out, got some information, put your mind at rest. But the fact is it's been covered by a 'crime reporter' even though information is slight and the Police aren't even looking for someone else in connection - luckily no names have been mentioned as the person involved could've really been embarrassed by this, who knows.
A family member of mine collapsed at work last year meaning they had to close his floor off to get him out to hospital, some passing police bods assisted which resulted in a crowd developing. It was a heart attack and that didn't end up in the paper.
I hear an old gent collapsed at Bolton bus station on Monday, that didn't end up in the paper and there was probably more to report about that one.
Someone' son, brother, husband, dad, wife, sister, mother, daughter, cousin, neighbour, friend, bloke they hardly know but have bumped into at the pub, gets injured, falls over, dies all the time - it doesn't make it news or news worthy. That is life. It's what we do.
