BOLTON Golf Club can put up three new signs outside its home — but has been told to go back to the drawing board with a fourth, grammatically incorrect sign.
The club applied for permission to install four new non-lit signs outside its entrance off Chorley New Road, but one — the largest at 2.61 metres — was deemed by planning officers to be "unnecessarily large for the site".
Pedants at Horwich Town Council also bemoaned a missing apostrophe in the sign — which read "Boltons Premier Golf Club" — but said they would be happy for it to be put up once the error was corrected.
