THE Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Coun Salim Mulla, is encouraging people to attend his annual ball to help raise cash for kidney dialysis machines for East Lancashire patients.
Tickets, costing £25, are now on sale for the Mayor’s Ball, to be held on Friday, April 11, at King George’s Hall, in Blackburn.
There will be entertainment from party band The Right Stuff, along with a three-course dinner, and prize raffle.
Money raised will be donated to Coun Mulla’s charity, the Blackburn with Darwen Kidney Care Appeal, which is raising funds to improve the facilities, and equipment, of the renal dialysis unit at East Lancashire Hospitals.
This will help improve quality of life for many local people who live with kidney failure. He said: “The Mayor’s Ball is a wonderful event and a fantastic way to both raise money for a very worthwhile charity, and to give people a really enjoyable night out.”
