A DRIVER in their 80s has been taken to hospital following an accident in Blackburn Road at the junction of Moss Bank Way.
Police were called at 7.10pm after an ambulance on its way to Royal Bolton came across the accident involving two cars.
The driver, thought to be 85, was taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.
No arrests have been made and the cars suffered minor damage.
Inspector Oxley said: "We had a call at 7.10pm after an ambulance came across a road traffic collision at the junction of Moss Bank Way.
"One person who is thought to be about 85 has been taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.
"No arrests have been made and there was minimal damage to the cars. The area has now been cleared."
