A WEEK of sports and other fun activities for children begins next Monday and culminates with a winter play day.
The Get Up and Go programme involves a wide variety of activities suitable for young people of all ages.
The week of fun starts on Monday, February 17 and includes daily sports sessions such as cricket, badminton, dodgeball and rugby.
There will also be the opportunity to get involved in more unusual activities such as street dance, arts fun and multiskills.
The council will also be holding its annual winter playday in the Town Hall on Saturday, February 22.
The event runs from 11am until 3pm with a Punch and Judy show, circus skills, interactive computer games, arts and crafts and giant games.
Councillor Bev Murray said: “As always, our sports team have put together a fantastic jam-packed schedule to get young people involved in fun activities this half term.
“It’s all indoors so you won’t have to worry about being outside in the cold but make sure you get booked in as soon as possible as places on the sessions quickly get full.
“You can secure your place by using our online booking system, which will give you all the information you need about each activity.
“There is a small charge for some activities but many are completely free.”
