Bolton issued with another 'yellow' snow warning by Met Office as gale-force winds forecast
SNOW showers have hit Bolton this afternoon – and more is forecast tonight, along with possible 80 to 90mph winds tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued Bolton with a second "yellow" snow warning in as many days, as sleet showers start to fall in the town.
The warning runs from 2.15pm this afternoon through to 10am tomorrow warning, and the snow is expected to "accumulate in places".
People across the North West are being warned to expect travel disruption and "driving risk" by The Met Office.
A more serious "amber" alert has also been issued by the Met Office ahead of "potentially damaging" gale-force winds tomorrow.
The warning is currently in place from 10am to 11.50pm on Wednesday, with winds potentially as high as high as 80 to 90mph feared.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Current ideas suggest that parts of western England, Wales and northern England will bear the brunt with gusts of 60 to 70mph widely, and gusts of 80 to 90mph in exposed parts of north and west Wales, and perhaps north west England."
