THREE more arrests have been made as police probe a clash between Clarets and Sheffield Wednesday fans last month.

Eight men from across Burnley, Pendle and Rochdale were detained after violence broke out between rival supporters at Burnley Miners on March 18.

And police have confirmed that an extra three suspects — a 21-year-old man from Colne, a 41-year-old man from Bacup and a 26-year-old man from Burnley — have also been spoken to over the past 24 hours.

One window was smashed and damage was caused to furniture at the Plumbe Street venue after fans in different rooms were involved in a 40-strong fight.

Investigations are also understood to be continuing in East Lancashire and South Yorkshire as officers look to establish whether anyone was hurt.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police also said that the original eight have been released on bail, pending further enquiries, until March 18.
