THE police helicopter located a 23-year-old man hiding in bushes after the alarm was raised at a Darwen garage.
Blackburn magistrates heard three men were seen running away from A4 Sales and Service on Clarence Street and into nearby allotments. And officers set up a cordon until Benjamin Robinson was located by a thermal imaging camera.
Robinson, of Coniston Avenue, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to burglary with intent to steal. He was bailed for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said police had been alerted by an intruder alarm and disturbed the three would-be burglars. They found a £9,000 scanner and a Range Rover which appeared ready for removal.
