AN elderly woman was rescued from a broken down lift in a Heaton retirement home - the second incident of its kind in a week.
Firefighters were called to Kingsbury Court Lodge in Kingsbury Avenue, Heaton, at about 3.30pm this afternoon.
The woman was in the lift for about 25 minutes before being freed by firefighters.
It is the second time someone has been rescued from a lift at the home in a week - there was another rescue at the home on last Tuesday.
Crew manager Richard Henthorne, from Bolton Central fire station, said: "This woman was quite distressed but was quickly helped to safety."
