A FUEL spillage has caused traffic chaos on the M61 for commuters.
The Highways Agency closed two lanes on the northbound carriageway between junction six at Horwich and Rivington North services this morning after a crash.
A police spokesman said at least two vehicles, a Ford and a Renault, were involved in a crash at about 7.55am.
Nobody suffered serious injuries, but two lanes have been closed while the spillage is cleared and the cars are removed.
Tailbacks are building and delays of up to 30 minutes are expected.
