DARWEN MP Jake Berry has urged villagers in the Edgworth and Turton area to have their say on local buses.

Blackburn with Darwen Council has launced a review of its public transport commitments as it deals with cuts to local government funding.

And Mr Berry, along with North Turton and Tockholes councillors Jean and Colin Rigby, said residents should tell the council what they think.

He said: “Colin and Jean have told me that it would be very helpful if as many people as possible can email the council at transport@blackburn.gov.uk and tell them how important it is that North Turton has a service that will keep us connected to Bolton and Bury.

“Specifically that when they reduce the subsidy for public transport and cancel the number 37 service, they should do everything they can to support the new Travel Assist service. Emails need to be sent before Friday, January 31.”
