A TOWN centre church is counting the cost after raiders smashed through three doors before escaping with just a few pounds in cash.
The break in happened at Chorley United Reformed Church overnight on Thursday, January 23.
Intruders broke through three doors causing considerable damage to the Hollinshead Street church.
Brian Darbyshire, property steward at the church said: “We didn’t lose much as our church does not have any valuable property and money is never kept on site, but the 50-plus Club run by Lisieux Hall had their session disrupted and you really can’t put a price on that.”
Reverend Martin Whiffen, said “We are saddened that our church has been targeted in this way.”
