THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after a gun was found in a crashed car near Bury town centre.
Police found the weapon after they received reports about cars driving at high speed near Bolton Road just after 4pm today.
When they attended the incident, they found a Fiat Punto and Audi A4 had crashed in Crostons Road – before they uncovered a weapon hidden inside the Punto.
Two men and one woman have now been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
Another two men have been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Forensics officers are still working at the scene, and police said enquiries are ongoing.
