BURY band Elbow has changed the title of its new album two months before its release.

Initially entitled Carry Her, Carry Me, it has been re-named The Take Off and Landing of Everything.

The band’s sixth album, which follows 2011’s Build a Rocket, Boys!, is set to be released on March 10 before the band begin their arena tour in April.

Lead singer Guy Garvey, from Prestwich, told Q Magazine: “It always happens, this. The title’s now from a song there — this huge, cacophonous thing, born of our love for space rock, prog, Primal Scream and Spiritualized.

“It’s to do with the fact that there have been lots of life events. There are five members of the band, people have split up, got together, had children, it never stops this stuff. Especially round the 40 mark; there’s lots of re-evaluations in life, and yet I wanted to remain celebratory about that.

“Everybody’s feeling relief with remorse, next to joy, next to loss. But I think think laughing very hard and worrying very little is a good way to keep young.”

Elbow play Manchester’s Phones 4u Arena on April 9.Their international tour includes gigs in Belgium, Germany, Holland and Ireland.
