A TEENAGER is still in a critical condition in hospital after he was thrown from and crushed by a car in a crash in Belmont.

The 16-year-old, a former Harper Green School pupil from Farnworth, was thrown from the black Citroen C2, which then overturned and landed on him, in Rivington Road, Belmont, at about 11pm on Thursday.

Police said the boy was still in a critical condition in hospital.

Another man, aged 19, also a former Harper Green pupil, was in the car, but escaped without serious injuries.

The car was travelling from Rivington in the direction of Belmont when the accident happened.
