Chains: Crime fight link

Neighbourhood officers have secured funds from Chorley Community Housing’s (CCH) Neighbourhood Fund to buy anti-theft chains to distribute to shoppers in the town centre.
The chains were handed out by PCSOs who talked to people to raise awareness of opportunist theft and pick pockets.
The chains are to attach purses or wallets to bags or clothing to prevent theft. The goal was to reduce crime and to offer reassurance to people.
PCSO Michelle Makin, left, said: “Everyone we spoke to really appreciated them and the advice that we were able to offer.”
