BOLTON Wanderers are set to throw their support behind Winston’s Wish — the charity for bereaved children.

The Whites will launch their campaign for the charity tomorrow when they take on Nottingham Forest at the Reebok.

The club’s Community Trust and FanZone will be handing out tea bags and making announce-ments to promote the charity’s fundraising campaign, the Great British Brekkie.

Winston Bear and Lofty the Lion will also be teaming up on the pitch to help promote the work of the charity.

Kelly Willison, North West appeals officer for Winston’s Wish, said: “We were delighted to receive the news that we had been selected as one of the associate charities of the year for Bolton Wanderers.

“The club has been very supportive and we look forward to working with them throughout the season.

“The match day on Saturday will be a fantastic way to inform members of the public about our work with bereaved children. We will also be able to promote our Great British Brekkie week.

“For this, we would love people to hold a breakfast during the week of February 10 with their family, friends, colleagues or classmates to help us raise £30,000.”

Club chaplain Phil Mason said: “Winston’s Wish is a fantastic charity.

“It gives incredible and much needed support to children who have are bereaved and lost loved ones at such an early time in life.

“They give tremendous hope and comfort in such difficult circumstances. We are delighted to be supporting them.”
