SIGHTINGS of smoke at Royal Blackburn Hospital saw the fire alarm raised.
However the smoke, near the ante-natal clinic, was part of ongoing maintenance work. Lancashire Fire and Rescue said there was no fire when they arrived on Monday.
Bob Donovan, fire safety adviser at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “During planned installation works at Royal Blackburn Hospital, a brazing process created localised smouldering.”
