THIS Blackburn family has welcomed a fifth generation with the birth of baby girl.

Born at Burnley General Hospital on Christmas Day, Brooklynn Wade is the first great-great grandchild of 80-year-old Janet Hargreaves.

Janet, who lives off Rockcliffe Street, said: “It’s quite a family now isn’t it? I’ve already got eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, but I never thought I would have a great-great granddaughter.

“We are very close and it’s lovely for the five of us all to be together in Blackburn. She’s a beautiful baby and I feel so proud.

“All my friends have been asking about it so I feel a bit famous now.”

Brooklynn, who weighed 8lb 11oz, now lives in Sunny Bower with dad Dave Wade and mum Naomi Hester, who is Janet’s great granddaughter.

The family, also including Naomi’s dad Colin Hester, 41, and his mum Barbara Hester, 60, all got together on New Year’s Day to celebrate.

Naomi, 23, said: “The midwives and doctors at Burnley were all brilliant and we are all doing well.

“It’s been really nice to all be together and I’m so pleased that Janet has got to meet her great-great granddaughter.”

Barbara, who lives in Guide, said: “She’s a perfect baby and it’s better than winning the lottery.

“We all feel really proud and I’m just glad that mum got to meet her great-great granddaughter.”
