Women talked down from jumping out of window in Blackburn

TWO women who threatened to jump out of a window were talked down safely by police.

Officers were called to East Park Road, in Blackburn, at 7am yesterday (WED) after reports of the women claiming they were going to jump.

Police spoke with the women and after several minutes, they moved away.

An 18-year-old woman, from Blackburn, was arrested for prevention of a breach of an order.

A 20-year-old woman was also taken to the royal Blackburn Hospital for a medical assessment.

To put things into perspective I have a 94 year old grandmother I also know people who have children with life threatening conditions; they could have been left without an immediate response if circumstances had taken a turn for the worst. These fools do this at the busiest time of the year whilst others are dying through accidents, violence or illness and it seems they get away with it barring a psychiatric assessment. Don't get me wrong if it was one person then it is more than likely mental illness. However, two people jumping at the same time, in the same place and on the same day seems like attention seeking at it's worst! They should be forced to pay in full for all of the costs incurred as a result of their stupidity.
