ELIZABETH Tatman was honoured to receive her MBE.
The 81-year-old chairman of Bolton Toy Library, a position she has held for the last nine years, received the award to thank her for her decades of hard work with Bolton’s young people. As well as her work at the Toy Library, Mrs Tatman specialised in early years education throughout her career and has also worked with the Bolton branch of the Sea Cadets.
Mrs Tatman, left, who received the honour from Prince Charles on December 6, said: “It was a wonderful day. The thing that impressed me the most was how efficient and considerate the staff at the Palace were.
“It was a very emotional day but it’s very much about you and the person giving you the award.”
Bolton Toy LIbrary gives parents, grandparents and carers with children under five the chance to access good quality play equipment and appropriate resources.
