BLACKBURN with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have joined with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust to offer advice to the elderly this winter.
Dr Ray Hyatt, a consultant at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “Excess winter mortality is greatest in older people and the North West had a high prevalence last year.
Older people are advised to keep their living room around 70°F (21°C), their bedroom at 65°F (18°C), drink hot drinks regularly, eat at least one hot meal a day and get the seasonal flu jab.
