A NIGHT-time raider who took a mobile phone and computer from the bedside of a ‘recluse’ as she slept, has been locked up for 10 months.
Michael Longworth, 27, did not disturb his victim, but she woke the next morning to the horror of finding an intruder had been in the bedroom of her Burnley flat.
Longworth had also struck twice more in the town, taking another woman’s laptop and phone from her home and a man’s mobile phone from his new house, just 48 hours after he had moved in, Burnley Crown Court heard.
Longworth, who has 32 previous convictions and has broken into houses in the past, admitted burglary and asked for two offences of burglary to be taken into consideration.
The defendant, of Old Road, Failsworth, Oldham, who has been on remand, was homeless at the time.
