£18k of steel girders snatched from Leyland industrial estate

THIEVES drove off with more than £18,000 of steel girders after wedging open a security gate on an industrial estate in Leyland.
At around 6.30pm on Wednesday, November 20, CCTV images captured a group of three men drive up to an industrial unit on Centurion Way in a maroon HGV tractor unit and jam open the security gate as it was closing.
The thieves later drove into the compound and made their way over to a trailer holding around £18,000 worth of steel girders.
They then attached the trailer to a tractor unit and drove away through the open gate.
Officers investigating the theft have released images of the men they are looking to speak to in a bid to identify the people responsible.
PC Katy Hall said, “This is a very high value theft, totalling over £23,000 including the cost of the trailer and so we are very keen to speak to anyone that may have any information that could lead us to the people responsible.”
