STAFF from the BT Exchange in Blackburn town centre gave up their time last Sunday to spruce up buildings and gardens at East Lancashire Hospice.
The team of workers decided to put something practical back into their community and volunteered to spend a day helping staff with various tasks around the Park Lee Road hospice.
The help included gardening, power washing and cleaning gutters.
The community spirit was extended even further with Darwen-based Crown Paints and B&Q Blackburn donating paints and other materials do help with the tasks.
Kimberley Hall, fundraiser at the hospice, said: “Everyone at the hospice appreciated the volunteers from BT Exchange taking time out from their weekend to help with the jobs here.
“They certainly weren’t afraid to get stuck in and their efforts made a real difference.”
