SYRIA Relief, a charity co-founded by an East Lancashire doctor, has launched a winter appeal.
More than three million Syrian refugees and six million people have been forced to flee their homes and the charity fears many of them will not survive the harsh winter ahead.
Dr Ayman Jundi, a consultant in emergency medicine, moved to Blackburn in 1987 but his parents and extended family remain in Syria.
