BURNLEY is one of the best performing councils in the north west for a scheme aimed at getting people out of work for over three years back into employment.
Coun Mark Townsend, portfolio holder for resources and performance management, said: “The council is working with Jobcentre Plus on the Post Work Support Programme.
“So far 14.2 per cent of this group have moved into employment. Burnley is one of the best performing teams in the north west on this project.”
