TWO talented siblings beat thousands of entrants to be crowned winners of the Bury Times and Radcliffe Times Christmas card competition.

Harry and Katie Brown, who both attend Christ Church Primary in Ainsworth, wowed the judging panel and readers with their festive creations.

Harry, aged seven, created an O Holy Night card, while Katie, aged nine, entitled her card Let it Snow.’ Proud Mum Jenny, of Chiswick Road, Bradley Fold, said: “It was a shock. They both tried really hard, and we didn’t know there were so many entrants. We are really proud.”

It is not the first time the artistic brother and sister have been successful in competitions.

Katie reached the final of a national competition which called on youngsters to design a Jubilee-themed cup and saucer, and travelled to Stoke-on-Trent for the event last year.

Harry also won last year’s Bury Market Christmas card competition, and he donated his prize to St Ann’s Hospice, as a member of family was receiving care there.

The pair will now see their designs professionally printed by Impression in Bolton, and they will both receive £25 vouchers for Smyths toys.

What's more, they have won pizzas for their classmates and teacher from Dominos in Bury.
