POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was mugged in Burnley yesterday.
At around 6pm last night (9th December), the woman, who is in her 50’s, was walking along Rydal Close back to her car when she was approached by a man who came up behind her, pushed her to the floor and pulled her handbag from her arm before running away.
Officers investigating are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and contact them.
DC Shaun Juriansz from Pennine CID said: “We would appeal to anyone who had seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to come forward if they think they have any information that they think could help. We think a second man may have also been involved who was seen to be stood nearby at the time and so we would also ask people to bear that in mind.
“Fortunately, although left shaken, the lady involved only received minor injuries but we are very keen to trace the people responsible so we would be keen to hear from anyone who thinks they can help.”
The main offender is described as being of stocky build, around six feet two inches tall and he was wearing a dark coloured, chunky cardigan. The second man who was stood nearby was described as slightly shorter than the main offender and as being ‘well built’. He was wearing dark clothing.
Information can passed to police by calling 101 quoting log number LC-20131209-1112.
