Burnley man faces taxi driver charge

A MAN has been charged with assaulting a taxi driver in Burnley.

Ben Blackburn, 22, from Burnley, has been charged with common assault in connection with the driver being punched in the back following an argument in Church Street at 1.30am on Saturday.

Sgt Martyn Holt, of Burnley Police, said: “The taxi worker suffered no visible injury but has been left with soreness.”

Blackburn has been bailed to appear at Burnley Magistrate’s Court at a future date.
