"Hard work, good behaviour and attendance" - it's called "welcome to the real world",
There are laws regarding behaviour & attendance; and praise should be sufficient expectation for their hard work.
I object to my taxes being squandered by paying teachers to oversee such trips, instead of doing the jobs they are paid to do.

What is wrong with rewarding those who do the right thing?

I am delighted my taxes are being well used to pay teachers to oversee such trips, doing the jobs they are being paid to do - teaching our kids that good attendance, good behaviour and hard work are things to be valued.

It makes a change! Usually, the ones rewarded with such things, are the "challenging" truants, idlers and miscreants!
