Trip to Velodrome centre big success

OLDER people in Chorley took advantage of a unique chance to cycle on the National Velodrome track in Manchester.

Chorley Council’s Active Generation project, aimed at encouraging people aged 50 plus to take up physical activity, teamed up with the National Cycling Centre to organise the trip which included a one hour track session with a qualified coach, plus a tour of the centre.

Fourteen people took part in the trip and also got the opportunity to have a one lap time trial and set a time on the track.

More trips aimed at promoting cycling are set to be arranged in 2014.
