BURY’S bus driving poet Peter Slater will be stopping off at the town’s Huntley Unionist Club to host a charity event.

He has organised a poetry, music and comedy evening in aid of the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity.

Peter, who is based at the First bus depot in Bury, will be joined by several fellow poets, comedians and musicians for the event at the “Duck Club” in Coppice Street on Saturday December 7.

He explained: “A while ago the staff and management did a video for Josh's charity directed by one of our drivers, Tino Festa. Having lost my grandson last year at the age of six week, I was moved by Josh's story and wondered how I could help.

“Apart from being a bus driver, I also write poetry and perform at various venues around the North West.”

The event will run from 7.30pm and tickets are £5.
