ELECTRICITY customers are being advised to be on their guard following reports of cold calling crooks.
Bosses at Electricity North West said fraudsters were targeting residents in the Burnley area, pretending to be from the electricity board, and offering money off bills.
They then ask for bank details.
Lee Maxwell, area manager for Electricity North West, said customers should be wary of anyone cold calling and report any suspicious activity.
He said: “If anyone is approached in this way then they must call us immediately on 0800 1954141.”
