BLACKBURN’S Home Library Service is the answer for those finding it difficult to get to the library to find their favourite books or somebody who is unable to get out of the house and loves reading.

Volunteers or staff from the service will go to library users’ doors to provide all library needs.

Users can choose up to 10 items, books, large print books, fiction or non-fiction, talking books on CD or cassette and talking magazines.

Customers just need to let the service know what books they like and they will do the rest.

Customers can even reserve their favourite books and they will bring them to your door for free.

Roger Booth, library officer for equality and access at Blackburn Central Library, said: “We deliver every two weeks at a time to suit you. We also loan digital magnifiers which help people to read in the comfort of their own homes, they are easy to use, just plug into the back of the TV.

“Users can also borrow a Nintendo DS Lite which comes with Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training game.”
