A HYNDBURN school was one of the biggest fundraising schools in the country, it was announced.
The Hollins Technology College, in Accrington, raised more than £2,500 for Sport Relief last year.
Headteacher Steve Campbell said: “We are extremely proud of our fundraising for our chosen charities. To be one of the biggest fundraising schools in the country is a fabulous achievement.”
Carmen Roberts is a fundraising assistant for Comic Relief, the charity behind Sports Relief.
She said: “The Hollins Technology College was one of the biggest fundraising schools for 2012. They are amazing and we hope they’ll be joining in again in 2014.”
The school said it plans to repeat its fundraising success next year.
It will be supporting ‘Wear It Pink’ on Friday, October 25, and later a Christmas market will be held in December to raise money to replace the school’s mini bus.
